Spanish La Liga Santander giant, FC Barcelona have not really been impressive this season as they lost some of their key players to other European clubs due to financial crisis coupled with the growing list of injury for some of the available key players left in the squad.
Barcelona have really been struggling in the current campaign as they are trying to adapt to life after Lionel Messi who has always been the strong pole which the entire squad held on to, and also missing out on about six injured players who could have make it to the starting XI with the likes of Sergio Kun Aguero yet to make an appearance since his summer arrival from Manchester City, Ousmane Dembélé, Martin Braithwaite among others.
Barcelona in the game against Levante won convincingly with a three goals to nil scoreline at full time with some things to be looked into in their great and top notch delivery that moved them to the sixth spot on the table.
Here are four things to learn in the Barcelona's crucial win:
- Barcelona in the game were able to bounce back to winning ways after their struggling status in the competition which made them played a back-to-back draw, and as such lost four points to average team like Cadiz and Granada where they are ordinarily expected to accrue points to keep them going in the competition.
Their commitment and great determination coupled with top notch resilience made them earned the whole three points of the game with a vital clean sheet.
- Barcelona in the game scored two goals within the space of 14 minutes courtesy of goals from Memphis Depay and Luuk De Jong in the 6th and 14th minutes respectively, which makes it the very first time the club will be scoring two goals before 15 minutes of a game across all competitions since Ronald Koeman took charge the helm of affairs at the club.
- The first two goals scored by Barcelona in the game were from two different Dutch players (Memphis Depay and Luuk De Jong) which was the first time two Dutch have scored in the same La Liga game since March 2009 in Athletic - Real Madrid at San Mames (Klass-Jan Huntelaar and Arjen Robben).
- Ansu Fati made his return to the squad after been sidelined for 11 months (322 days) due to injury and he was able to mark his injury return debut with a brilliant goal which was instrumental in the three goals to nil scoreline at full time.
This will undoubtedly be a great addition to the struggling squad as it will reinforce the attacking line most especially in this period of their rebuilding process.
Barcelona after the game currently sit at the 6th spot on the table and as such be hoping to keep the winning streaks going in their next fixture, so as to continue their pursuit in the competition.
