Nicolas Pepe was in the starting lineup for the Ivorian National Team today when they welcomed Malawi to the Stade de l'Amitie in an intense World Cup Qualification Fixture. The Arsenal Winger put up a brilliant display as he guided Ivory Coast to a narrow 2-1 victory over Malawi at the end of the match.
Nicolas Pepe got Ivory Coast up and running in the 2nd minute of the fixture as he opened the scoring with a fine effort to make the scoreline 1-0 in favour of his country. Malawi got the equaliser in the 20th minute of the match as Khuda Muyaba levelled things up with a brilliant effort to make the scoreline 1-1 at halftime.
AC Milan Midfielder Franck Kessie wrapped things up for Ivory Coast in the 67th minute of the match as he converted brilliantly from the penalty spot to make the final scoreline 2-1 in favour of his country.
Nicolas Pepe returned to goalscoring form on international duty as he put up an outstanding performance for Ivory Coast in today's match. The Arsenal forward looks to be back in form as his performance today showed he hasn't dropped in his quality. The 26-year-old will be looking to bring this form back to Arsenal once club football action returns.
