The 2020/2021 football season has been very eventful and unpredictable, several games have been played while few teams will be rounding up the season with silverware.
The team was not playing the best of football and players were lacking in confidence while Frank Lampard was in charge of the team, the decision of the Board to bring in a new coach turned the fortune of the club around for the better, Thomas Tuchel has made the Blues better within a short period of time.
Chelsea has a strong chance of finishing the 2020/2021 football season with silverware. While fans are salivating over the recent performances of the team, this 2020/2021 season could be the best season experienced by these players at Stamford Bridge.
1. Edouard Mendy: When Chelsea signed him up from Rennes, not many fans have heard of him. Chelsea had to look for another keeper after Kepa Arrizabalaga could not meet up with the demand of being the shot-stopper for a big club like Chelsea.
The addition of Mendy to the team has solidified the backline of the Blues, with several clean sheets kept during this season. Even though the 2020/2021 season is the first one witnessed by Mendy at Stamford Bridge, he can still be regarded as a successful one as the team is on course to end the season with different silverware.
2. Mason Mount: The rise of Mount as one of the star players at Chelsea has been a joy to watch for many. The fans had been looking for academy graduates that will make the giant step of becoming a regular starter for the Blues. Mason Mount makes good use of the opportunity handed over to him and he is set to have an amazing career playing for Chelsea.
Mount helped Chelsea qualify for the Champions League last season, if the Champions League cup is to move to Stamford Bridge come May 29, 2021, Mason Mount has an important role to play.
The ongoing season can still be regarded as the best had by Mount in a Chelsea jersey.
3. Jorginho: Even though he has been a regular face in the first eleven of the team, Jorginho is the player that is yet to win the heart of many Chelsea Fans.
His display for this season has been magnificent, while some may not rate him, he is very good as a central midfielder. Jorginho gives midfield control to Chelsea and dictates the play for the team. He has been one of the most consistent players in the team this season, the 2020/2021 football season may be the best Jorginho has witnessed in Stamford Bridge.
4. Andrea Christensen: He is one of the academy graduates that made it to the first team, Christensen has been a squad player despite being talented as a ball-playing defender.
Thomas Tuchel as Chelsea coach has given more opportunity to the Danish player in important games and he performed credibly well for the team.
He has become a mainstay of the 3-4-2-1 formation used by Thomas Tuchel, Christensen is having his best moment as a Chelsea Player in this ongoing football season.
