According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United is keeping an eye on RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko.
Sesko is one of many names about which United claims to be "fully informed," despite assurances that no agreement is now near.
Sesko, a 19-year-old Slovenian international, has already earned 13 senior caps.
Sesko follows in the footsteps of Erling Haaland and Patson Daka, two strikers who were discovered by the Austrian team in recent seasons.
Sesko has recently been linked to Tottenham Hotspur, and Goal previously reported that Liverpool was interested in signing him. The Daily Mail most recently suggested that Newcastle might relocate.
Sesko is "a very complete striker," according to Basanovic. He can score with his head, his right foot, his left foot, from close range, from a distance, after dribbling.
Sesko has been referred to as a "mini-Haaland" by Goal, and United may be able to acquire him now, before he develops and his price rises.
This is an intriguing transfer connection since Sesko fits the profile of a player who United should be keeping an eye on and who may be a great Anthony Martial replacement.
If Martial were to go hurt, United would be severely lacking choices up front given the uncertainty surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo's future.
Sesko has Europa League experience and won the championship with RB Salzburg last year. Even though it would be early in his development to join United, he might benefit most from studying under Erik ten Hag.
