Football coaches make so many difficult decisions on the field of play. This is why managers like Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola are regarded as very good football coaches. One of these difficult situations is when a coach has to take off a substitute. There have been so many players who left the field shortly after coming on. Let us take a brief look at some of them.
1. Juan Mata
The Spanish star came off the bench as a substitute during a match between Man United and Leicester City in 2016. However, he was taken off the pitch by his manager a few minutes later. The former Chelsea star is regarded as one of the most talented midfielders in Europe.
2. Callum Hudson-Odoi
The English star was taken off a few minutes after coming on the field in a match between Watford and Chelsea in 2018. This has also happened to him under the management of Thomas Tuchel this year.
3. Mario Balotelli
The former Man City striker was brought on the field in a football match between Man City and Liverpool in 2011. However, he was taken off the field before the end of the match.
