Four Footballers Who Played For One European County And One African Country

Many football players have played for just one country at international level. Many players also dream of winning some major titles in international football. However, there are some football players who have represented more than one country at international level. Let us take a look at four footballers who have played for one European country as well as one African country.

1. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

The Arsenal striker has become a football legend in Gabon. This is because he has scored 28 goals for Gabon at international level. However, many football fans are not aware of the fact that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang played for one European country at youth level. He made one appearance for the French Under-21 team. This means that he has represented one African team and one European country.

2. Wilfred Zaha

The Crystal Palace winger has represented one African county and one European country. This is because he made two appearances for the English national team. However, he decided to switch international allegiance to Ivory Coast in order to get regular game time.

3. Victor Moses

Many Nigerians were happy when Victor Moses decided to switch international allegiance from England to Nigeria. He went on to win the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013. However, Moses played for England when he was a teenager. This implies that he has played for one African county as well as one European country.

4. Shola Ameobi

The Nigerian Football Federation convinced Shola Ameobi to play for the Super Eagles during his professional career. However, Shola Ameobi also represented England at youth level. This means that he played for one European country and one African country.
