Super Eagles star nets brace in his team's 7-goal thriller

Super Eagles of Nigeria Striker Cyriel Dessers was impressive for KRC Genk on Monday afternoon, as he netted brace in their 5-2 victory over Maastricht FC in a preseason friendly match.

The Nigerian international was given another starting role by coach John van den Brom following his outstanding performance for the club in their previous matches, and he was able to impress again, as he scored two out of his team's five goals.

Cyriel Dessers started in KRC Genk's attack alongside Joseph Paintsil and Luca Oyen and the trio were exceptional on the pitch.

Kai-David Bosing opened scoring for the away team in the 26th minutes and Cyriel Dessers equalized via a penalty kick in the 31st minutes before Sven Blummel scored another goal for the away team in the 45th minutes to end the first half 2-1.

Cyriel Dessers made it 2-2 in the 47th minutes with a classic goal. Luca Oyen made it 3-2 in the 51st minutes, and Kelvin Pius John made it 4-2 in the 63rd minutes before substitute Sekou Diawara scored the last goal of the game in the 72nd minutes to end the match 5-2.

Cyriel Dessers was exceptional for KRC Genk in the entertaining encounter, and he was able to mark his excellent performance with a brace.

Dessers' compatriot Paul Onuachu was not listed among the squad that faced Maastricht FC, and the duo are expected to be in action for the team when KRC Genk play their first League game this weekend.
