FIFA World Cup

Two tactical strategies Werner should learn from Muller in their game against Romania.

Germany national team escalated from a 0-1 lost in the first half of their world cup qualifying game with Romania to emerging winners in the second half of the match in a 2-1 scoreline.

Gnabry and Thomas Muller scored for the Germans to retain their first position with 7 points ahead of others in the group F. However, Thomas Muller stole the show of the match by scoring in the 89th minutes of the second after he was brought on, while Timo Werner went on another goal drought for his national team. This implies that Werner still has a lot of work to do on himself.

Hence Werner should learn these two tactical strategies from Muller:

1. Timo Werner should mimic the prowess of Thomas Muller: Muller despite his age is a player who always influences his games with his ability as a striker by either scoring decisive goals or becoming a thorn in the flesh of defenders. Which he (Muller) displayed against Romania. Werner seems sluggish in the front-line position and should work hard to develop his prowess ability and to always influence his games as a striker by scoring goals.

2. Werner should develop the dominance ability of Muller in the front-line position: Muller was been used as second choice striker on their game against Romania because of his age. But that didn't stop Muller from causing harm to his opponents whenever he was introduced in a game for his country against Romania. Werner should mimic such ability, because he (Werner) doesn't really dominate his games as a striker.
