The year 2020 has posed a lot of traumatizing and unbearable knuckles on the hearts of both footballers and football fans across the globe. Firstly delaying the season because of the break of a pandemic and now hindering the most popular and important football award in the world.
The Ballon d’Or has over the last 12 years been monopolized by two exciting, important and talented stars: Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, but this year it all seems that the world will be saved of the arguments and controversies that comes with this award as EUFA declared that There will be no Ballon d’Or winner in 2020 due to a “lack of sufficient fair condition”. With the anxiety that comes with this, it now conjures that all eyes will be set on the Dubai d’Or which declared Ronaldo its winner last year even in his bad run of form. It is good to know that Ronaldo has already won a trophy this year and Lewandoski was tipped to be the winner this year. With Lionel Messi yet trophy-less, it is un-debatable that Ronaldo will be a winner this year considering his charisma, patronage, fan-base and his outstanding contribution to the growth of Italian League this year, he will be setting a new record of taking the award two straight times without Messi replying any.
