How Tuchel Successfully Turned Ben Chilwell Into A Worldclass Player After Initially Dropping Him

One of the hottest defenders in the world right now is Chelsea's defender Ben Chilwell. The 24-years-old left-back has being unstoppable so far since he fought his way back into the Chelsea starting lineup under Thomas Tuchel after initially being benched by Marcos Alonso.

Ben Chilwell was Thomas Tuchel preferred left wing-back in Chelsea's champions league winning campaign, but after going to the European championships and failed to make a single appearance in the tournament as Luke Shaw is being preferred by England's national team manager, Gareth Southgate.

Chilwell missed Chelsea's first games and made his first appearance of the season as a substitute in the 83rd minute against Zenit St Petersburg on the opening day of the new champions league campaign. The 24-years-old made his first start in the carabao cup against Aston Villa.

Ben Chilwell's turnaround moment came against Juventus in the champions league after he came on to replace Marcos Alonso at the halftime interval. The English man put in a brilliant performance despite Chelsea losing the game 1:0 after Frederico Chiesa scored for the Italian club.

Thomas Tuchel successfully helped and turned Ben Chilwell into a worldclass player this season by slowly integrating him into the Chelsea lineup. Ben Chilwell didn't play any competitive match for four months before he played his first competitive match.

Ben Chilwell has now scored in four consecutive matches in the premier league matching Eden Hazard's record for the Blues. The 24-years-old left-back is thriving under Thomas Tuchel and it's all down to the manager's successful man management which deserves an applaud.
