Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti, Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka, has presented cash gifts and sports materials to all outstanding players of Ikere Ekiti in the just concluded Oba Ademola Memorial U-13 Football Competition today, 11th April, 2021.
Eleka, who appreciated the organisers of the competition, said education is not all about knowledge; skills and attitude are also important in one's life.
"I am very happy to witness this event today and to see our young talents display their skills in a wonderful manner as this"
"Let me also add that parents, first of all, should take education of their wards seriously. They should not discourage them from exhibiting other skills of their interests as well. We are seeing this today and we are very happy about it," he said.
While encouraging the U-13 team and the organisers, Eleka said he would continue to provide necessary support towards revitalizing sports in Ekiti State. He expressed his desire to join hands with others to revitalise and rejuvenate sporting activities in Ekiti State.
"We have seen someone like Christian Ronaldo who is doing well in this sporting field because he possesses good qualities, having played in different teams," Eleka added.
He equally gave cash to the organisers to prepare U-15 Team of Ikere Ekiti ahead the forthcoming competition in the state.
Reacting, the organizers and the parents of the players thanked Prof. Eleka for his kindness and interest in sponsoring U-13 team, a significant pointer to what he will do for Sport in Ekiti State if given the right opportunity to govern the state.
