Arsenal to imminently meet £41m release clause to land 'next Cristiano Ronaldo'

Arsenal are reportedly ready to splash €45million (£41m) to activate the release clause of Sporting Lisbon wonderkid Joelson Fernandes.

Fernandes, 17, has drawn regular comparisons with Cristiano Ronaldo having broken his record as the youngest player to ever represent the Portuguese giants.

The winger has torn apart teams at youth team level to develop a huge reputation with top clubs including Barcelona and Juventus circling.

But A Bola claim that Arsenal are leading the race for his signature and are ‘on the verge’ of advancing their interest to activate his release clause.

They claim that super agent Kia Joorabchian, who has close ties with the Gunners, is monitoring the situation closely along with Fernandes’ father, Eusebio Mango Fernandes.

The offer is said to be ‘imminent’ and will leave Sporting Lisbon unable to respond as the clause in his contract does not expire until June 2022.

Barcelona increased their long-term interest in the winger after his historic debut against Porto.

They are believed to be a step ahead of Juventus, but Arsenal are currently leading the race.

Can Arsenal tempt Thiago Alcantara to join Arsenal instead of Liverpool?

Can we tempt Thiago to the Emirates? by Shenel

Reports today on Talksport confirm that Thiago Alcantara wants to leave Bayern Munich and Jurgen Klopp is “interested” in bringing him to Liverpool. Surprise surprise, a player is linked to Liverpool yet again! Its not like they need any more midfielders right!

Of course, there is nothing wrong with improving your team, but Thiago is a very experienced player who has won the League titles and many Cups in his time at Barcelona and Bayern Munich and the U-17 and U-21 Youth Championships for Spain. Do we really want a rival team gaining another good player?

So, if Bayern are looking to unload him from their ranks because he feels like his playing days for them are over given his lack of game time, then why can’t we go in for him too? The futures of Guendouzi, Ceballos and Ozil obviously seem unclear and become a main talking point at every Arteta press conference. I don’t see why we can’t show some intent and go for him too. Yes, we may not be in the Champions League for the new season but if he wants game time, then surely that is something we can give him over Liverpool?

Chelsea duo, Man Utd superstar tipped to be subjects of transfer scrap between Italian giants

Juventus and Inter are reportedly set to clash in the transfer market, with Chelsea and Man Utd stars said to be on both of their transfer radars.

The two Italian giants are currently locked in a battle for the Serie A title, as after recent slip-ups from Juve, it has given Antonio Conte’s men a chance to cut the gap down to six points again.

While their primary focus will be on the title race in the coming weeks, it’s also suggested that they will clash off the pitch as they share some of the same transfer targets.

As reported by Calciomercato, Paul Pogba, Emerson Palmieri and N’Golo Kante are all on their radars and so it remains to be seen firstly if they can be prised away from Man Utd and Chelsea respectively, and then who will prevail in convincing them to make the move to Italy.

The outcome of the title race could arguably have a major influence on that, and so it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds in the coming weeks, but it certainly would appear as though there will be some interesting decisions to be made this summer.

Pogba has returned from injury to play a pivotal role in Man Utd’s impressive form in recent weeks, while Kante surely remains a vital part of Chelsea’s plans moving forward.

With Emerson struggling for playing time at Stamford Bridge, perhaps that exit is the most likely, but time will tell if one materialises for him and who Juventus and Inter attract to strengthen their respective squads.
