Super Eagles of Nigeria stars Simy Tochukwu Nwankwo and Joel Chukwuma Obi were on action for Italian serie A club-side Salernitala football club on Saturday evening, as they defeated Genoa FC 1-0 in the week 7 of the Italian serie A.
The Nigerian internationals were given another playing time by their coach, following their impressive performances for the club last weekend, and they were able to impress again.
Simy Nwankwo started in the home team's attack, while Joel Chukwuma Obi was introduced in the 46th minutes of the game.
Both teams efforts to open scoring in the first half of the game were not successful, as the first half ended goalless.
Bosnia and Herzegovina national team star Milan Djuric opened scoring for the home team in the 66th minutes through a fine teamwork from Nigerian Joel Obi and Grigoris Kastanos to end the match 1-0.
Joel Obi and Simy Nwankwo were exceptional for the home team in the entertaining encounter, and they were able to guide them to a remarkable victory.
The victory over Genoa FC has now taken Salernitala football club to the 19th spot of the Italian serie A table with 4 points from 7 matches played.
