The start of the 2021/2022 Italian and Spanish season have not gone as plan for both Juventus and Barcelona respectively, as they are yet to assure their fans of an improved season, following their recent form.
Juventus who are currently 12th in the Serie A league table, lost their ‘goal machine’ Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United during the summer transfer window, as the former World Best Player, was instrumental to their Champions league survival last season. Cristiano Ronaldo scored 101 goals in just over three seasons for Juventus, as he formed a strong partnership with the likes of Paulo Dybala, Alvero Morata and Federico Chiesa.
Barcelona also lost their legendary playmaker and captain Lionel Messi to French heavyweights Paris Saint Germain, following the expirations of his contract at Camp Nou. Since Messi’s departure, Barcelona are yet to hit the ground running as they are currently 7th in the League (Barcelona drew there last 2 La Liga matches).
Fans of both teams (Juventus and Barcelona), will be hoping for a quick turnaround as with their current league form and results, they may miss out on the league title and a possible Champions League qualification next seasons.
