The Gunners had a few positives to take away from the match, despite only being able to manage a draw. First, the team showed great character by coming from behind to equalize in the 62nd minute, with William Saliba scoring the opener.
Second, the team showed great resilience in defense, limiting Sporting CP to only two clear-cut chances in the entire match. This is a huge improvement from the start of the season.
Finally, the result has given Arsenal a great chance to progress in the competition. A narrow victory in the second leg will be enough to progress to the quarterfinals. This gives the team a great chance to reach the quarterfinals and potentially the final of the competition.
Considering all these positives, there is no reason for Arsenal fans to be too downbeat about their team's performance in the first leg. With the second leg still to come, there is still a great chance for the Gunners to progress in the competition and make history by winning the Europa League. All the fans can do now is rally behind the team and hope for the best.
