As is in the habit of Forbes (a global media company that focues on business, investing, technology, entrepreneurship, etc), we've been provided with the list of clubs that made it to the list of top 10 most valuable football clubs in the world and their respective positions.
The list is compiled by the financial worth of each of the teams within a given period of time, usually a year. This financial worth or value of each club is determined by the difference of the total commercial revenues and expenses the clubs were able to make within the period of calculation. These revenues could be from broadcast earnings, profits from player transfers, sponsorship deals, etc. At the end, it is called the operating income earnings. While the expenses include debts, player purchases etc.
Now going over to the rankings proper as compiled by Forbes, we noticed some rather interesting changes in the list from the last time around. Manchester United remarkably dropped off the first-third position, replaced by Bayern Munich, who joins the Spanish El clasico teams in the first-third. We also saw Liverpool shoot up to fifth place ahead of the wealthy Manchester City.
