Jose Mourinho isn't a magician but the ability of the Portuguese National to lead Manchester United to the success in the Europa League at the end of the 2016/17 season, with half of the squad of the Red Devils unavailable for the final against Ajax in 2017 in Sweden, is beyond a miracle.
Half of the starting lineup of Manchester United in the 2016/17 season were unavailable for the Final of the Europa league against Ajax in 2017. Luke Shaw, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ashley Young and Marcos Rojo were all supporting themselves with crutches as they stood by the sidelines in their grey suit, watching their teammates having a faceoff with Dutch club Ajax in the Europa league final.
In the end, Manchester United did it, thanks to Goals From Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to help them beat Ajax in the final. That title would later remain the last title that the Red Devils would win in over 6 years.
Since Jose Mourinho led them to the title in 2017, the Red Devils were unable to win any title before Erik Ten Hag came around.
Last Sunday, Manchester United defeated Newcastle United by 2-0 in the final of the EFL Cup at Wembley Stadium. It was the Red Devils first title since the Europa league title in 2017.
The EFL Cup isn't the glorious or the biggest title of all but, Manchester United celebrated it like they won the UEFA Champions League or the English Premier league. To rival Fans, the EFL Cup is just an energy drink cup but to Manchester United Fans, it's their first major title in a long time.
