Chelsea will face Porto in the return leg of the Quarter finals in the UEFA Champions league. The Portuguese side proved very difficult in the first leg but Chelsea Defeated them by 2-0. With 2 away goals, Chelsea has a better chance at Qualifying to the next stage of the Competition.
Tuchel has listed the squad for the game and they have already landed in Sevilla for the game. The notable miss in the squad is Bill Gilmour as the youngster is left out again.
This is suprising as according to Skysports Correspondence Angelo Mangiante, Mateo Kovacic will not play for Chelsea tommorow and Kante will start the game. Which leaves Chelsea with only Jorginho as the only option in the position.
N'Golo #Kante will start against #Porto. Kovacic is out tomorrow. @SkySport#UCL #CHEPOR
Although The reason for this was not given, It could be the fact that Kovacic is one yellow card away from suspension. The Former Real Madrid man will be suspended for the first leg of the Semi Finals if he gets another yellow Against Porto. However, if he doesn't play at all or doest get booked, the yellow card will be cancelled.
Tuchel might be protecting him as it looks likely that Real Madrid will be Chelsea next opponent and Kovacic has more experience playing with the Real Madrid Midfield. What is surprising is that since Tuchel knows this, He should have included Gilmour in the squad list and left Kovacic in London. Chelsea already has one foot in the Semi Finals and Kovacic not playing won't stop them.
