Cristiano Ronaldo lost a lot of money to a con artist who pretended to be a humble and trustworthy travel agent.
Like many footballers, Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't do big things by himself, so he trusted an employee at a travel agency to organize his family vacations, Ronaldo gave the 54-year-old lady his bank details to get everything done but the employee soon took advantage of the opportunity to swindle Ronaldo's money.
She booked more than 200 trips from Ronaldo's account except that Cristiano Ronaldo never went on those vacations. In reality, she was moving money to one of her bank's accounts, but Cristiano didn't notice that the money was leaving his account because he is very rich.
The con artist also scammed Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, and got $20,000 from him, and she also scammed Nani but he quickly realized he lost $3,400 from his account.
She was caught and was sentenced to a 4 and ½ year suspended prison sentence and she was also forced to reimburse Ronaldo, Nani, and Jorge Mendes.
