Some managers in Europe are always skeptical about their players going for international assignments as some of the key players return with injury and during this pandemic, some test positive while on international duty and this has also affected EPL teams
After the international break, some players will not play this weekend. Manchester United's Raphael Varane will be out for some weeks because of injury which he got as France lifted the Nations League. Chelsea's Antoine Rudiger also returned injured and will be out of Chelsea's game with Brentford.
Wolverhampton Wanderers forward, Francisco Trincao came back with Covid19 after the international break and is training at home until he recovers. Thiago Silva will also not be available for Chelsea after he travelled 12 hours back to England after the South America World Cup qualifiers.
Gabriel Jesus, Fred and Ederson would also be out because of their involvement in games for Brazil and the long journey back to England. Ferran Torres will be out for about three months due to a bone metatarsal injury and that narrows down Pep Guardiola's options
Dominic Calvert-Lewin also got a muscle injury, with Andre Gomez. Richarlison is also out injured and is expected back on October
Edinson Cavani returned with injury and is expected back on 24th October while Dummet and Dubravka are also injured. Liverpool's Allison Becker and Fabio Tavares will also miss Liverpool's game
These circumstances will surely affect how these teams play this weekend and the coaches will have to improvise in order to get results, especially at Old Trafford where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will pair Lindelof and Bailly in the absence of Maguire and Varane and Pep Guardiola will be without Gabriel Jesus and Ferran Torres, two of his trusted strikers in the team and this means he will have to improvise
