No doubt that the 2022/2023 season will be regarded as one of the best seasons for the Italian club league topper, Napoli. The club won the second leg of the round of 16 against Frankfurt by 3-0 goals courtesy of a brace from the Nigerian-born star, Victor Osimhen. The Italian table topper progresses to the quarterfinal on a 5-0 goal aggregate for the first time in the club's history, having won the first leg by 2-0 goals.

Having scored in the first leg, Victor Osimhen become the first Napoli player to score in both legs of a UEFA Champions League knockout stage. With the two goals, Victor Osimhen has scored twenty-three goals in all competitions this season. His goals in the UEFA Champions League now are four (4) while he has scored a total of fifty-one (51) goals in ninety games for Napoli.

Victor Osimhen looks set to become the first African player in Italian top-flight history to win the Italian Serie A Golden Boot. Napoli is eighteen (18) points clear in the Italian Serie A table, closing in on their league title in thirty-three (33) years.
