Cyriel Dessers Way: Striker Who Snubbed Belgium For Nigeria Is Recognisable In Childhood Throwback

Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers has been spotted not looking different in a childhood throwback snap spotted on Instagram.

The forward shone like a million stars as he provided an assist for Koninklijk Racing Club Genk who forced Standard Liège to a 1-1 draw at the Stade Maurice Dufrasne on Friday night.

But in the photo on his Instagram handle, he looked totally innocent.

In the snap, Dessers can be seen smiling towards the camera alongside his siblings in 2013.

Wearing a t-shirt and baggy jeans, the star looked handsome and relished the situation. He shares a close bond with his family.

Born in Belgium to a Belgian father and Nigerian mother, in December 2019, Cyriel Dessers was chosen to represent Nigeria at international level.

On 4 March 2020, Dessers was called up by the Nigerian national team head coach Gernot Rohr as part of the team players invited for the African Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures against the Sierra Leone national team. He debuted for Nigeria in a friendly 1-1 draw with Tunisia on 13 October 2020.

The attacker has scored seven goals in 32 appearances since joining Genk from Heracles Almelo.
