Having come from behind to beat Villarreal 2-1 at Old Trafford the last timeout, United were again pegged back for the second consecutive match at home when they hosted Atalanta.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side was two goals behind at the stroke of half-time.
Atalanta created minimal chances in the first half compared to United's but took their chances well.
The visitors took the lead in the 15th minute when Pasalic was played in on goal. It was reviewed by the VAR but stood due to tight movement. Demiral doubled their lead in the 28th minute when he headed home from a corner kick.
United kept on creating chances but were wasting them. Fernandes was at the heart of clear chances created.
In the second half, Marcus Rashford pulled one back for Manchester United in the 53rd minutes after being played in by Bruno Fernandes' through ball. Harry Maguire added the second goal for the home team in the 75th minutes, while Ronaldo netted the winner in the 81st minutes having scored the winning goal in their previous game in the competition against Villarreal.
The 5 Positive Things That Could Revive Their Season.
1. Bruno Fernandes Creativity
The Portuguese midfielder was at the heart of every good thing United did in attack.
He created 8 chances in the game; the most by any player in a UCL game this season.
2. Rashford Bonus
The English man was back in the starting XI after being sidelined with surgery for two months. He scored a goal, making it two goals in two games for him.
3. Team Spirit
After going down 2-0 in the first half, United began the second half with more intent. Attacking left and right and defending together as a team.
4. David de Gea saves
The Spanish goalkeeper has been saving United from blushes so far this season. He came to their rescue again in the second half by making a double-save to keep the game at 2-1.
Only a few teams would have that determination in them to come back from 2 goals down. United have shown this several times last season by coming back from goals deficits to win games. They showed it against Atalanta too.
If United can keep these 5 positive things, their season would surely be revived.
