Gotzepe Insists On Selling Brown Ideye

Turkish Super Lig side, FC Gotzepe is combing Europe in search of suitable suitors for erstwhile Super Eagles striker, Brown Ideye.

Yeniasir.com.tr reported that the club is already preparing for life in the Super Lig next season without the former West Bromwich forward and have resolved to either sell him or seek a loan deal for the striker.

Much was expected of the former Olympiakos and Getafe forward when he arrived in Turkey, but Ideye failed to hit the ground running scoring just two goals and two assists in 30 matches for Gotzepe in the 2020/2021 season.

He became surplus to requirements after dropping to the bench in pecking order of strikers at the club and Gotzepe is hell bent on offloading the Nigerian.

Ideye joined Gotzepe from Greek side Aris Thessaloniki in 2019 on a free transfer after staying without a club from January-June same year. The AFCON 2013 winner is regarded as one the widely travelled Nigerian player having played for 10 foreign clubs in 13 years.

He teamed up with John Obi Mikel at Tianjin Teda in 2017/2018 season but failed to tie down a starting spot in the team before joining Malaga CF on a loan deal.

It remain to be seen where Ideye will end next season with no suitors in sight. It is however unknown if the former Ocean Boys striker will return home to play in Nigerian league just as Ahmed Musa did.
