After last night's Chelsea FC 1:0 Champions League final victory over Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, jubilant Edouard Mendy took out time to retrospect, acknowledge, and appreciate individuals (his family members, Petr Cech, Frank Lampard, and others) who played one role or the other, in seeing him move from that goalie who was unemployed some years back, to becoming a Champions League winner.
With nine (9) clean sheets in twelve (12) appearances, Edouard Mendy, who began by speaking about his feelings on winning the UEFA Champions League trophy, which according to him is exceptional, acknowledged that it is as though he's living in a daydream.
On recognizing the role his family members played in his journey to greatness, the Senegalese, who did not fail to acknowledge the personal efforts he had put to attain this feat, said, “I take this as a reward for myself and my family–the people who were there when things were wrong (speaking of his days without a job).”
Coming to terms that this feat would not have been possible had not been bought by the West London club, the twenty-eight (28) year old Chelsea FC shot-stopper, Edouard Mendy, in his acknowledgment, revealed that he owes thanks to Petr Cech and Christophe Lollichon, saying, “I have a thought for Lollichon and Cech who pushed for me to sign here.”
Conclusively, Edouard Mendy did not fail to bring in former Chelsea FC manager, Lampard, and his assistant, Morris, who were both sacked at the beginning of the year, into the success story they began but completed by Thomas Tuchel, saying, “I take this opportunity to thank Frank Lampard and Jody Morris, we started the season with them."
