EPL Player Of The Month: Ronaldo Continues From Where He Stopped 13 Years Ago

13 years ago, precisely in March, 2008, Cristiano Ronaldo, as a Manchester United player, won the English Premier League Player of the month award after scoring 5 goals in 4 games.

And the former Real Madrid and Juventus player seems to have continued from where he stopped 13 years ago with his winning the POTM again just in the first month of his second coming to Old Trafford. It was a record longest period of a player winning the Player of the month (POTM) twice.

With 3 goals in 3 matches in the month of September, Ronaldo, no doubt, has sent out an early signal to Premier league players about his mission in his second coming. Not even could challenges from three-time winner, Mohammed Salah stop him from claiming the award after emerging top in the voting.

Before his latest achievement, Ronaldo had won the Player of the month award four times at Old Trafford- November, 2006, December, 2006, January, 2008, and March, 2008.

It won't be surprising to see Ronaldo challenge for the player of the season award in the English Premier League (EPL) at the rate he's chasing records. Twice, he won the Player of the season award in 2006/2007 and 2007/2008 seasons with Manchester United aside many other achievements in his first stint at Old Trafford.

His brace against Newcastle United on his second debut and another goal against West Ham has reinforced the belief that Ronaldo still has a lot to offer even at 36.

And in his typical fashion, while acknowledging the POTM award, Ronaldo has urged his team mates at Manchester United to keep working hard together to achieve their goal of winning the Premier league- a league he won with Manchester United in 2006/2007, 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 seasons.

With Manchester United currently occupying the fourth position on the Premier league table with 14 points from 7 matches, Ronaldo may be on course with his team mates to achieve their dream of winning the English Premier league (EPL).

And for Ronaldo, it is a continuation of where he stopped 13 years ago at Old Trafford.
