Starting the 2021/2022 season with three straight defeats, most Arsenal fans were calling for their manager Mikel Arteta, to be shown the exit door, as they feel he was not the man to take them back to their glory days.
Arsenal lost to newly promoted side Brentford (2-0), European Champions Chelsea (2-0 at home), and were humiliated by Manchester City (5-0). In all these matches, Arsenal failed to score or even show glimpse of improvement under Mikel Arteta.
The return of club captain Aubameyang, Lacazette, Thomas Partey, Martin Oedegaard, Emile Smith-Rowe and last minute transfer addition Tomiyasu, Mikel Arteta is gradually guiding Arsenal back to the top of the table (Arsenal are currently 13th on the League table), as they have now won 3 of their last matches in all competition (2 Premier League wins and 1 EFL Cup win).
Arsenal now has a fit and full squad to call upon, as the likes of Leno, Gabriel Martinelli, Lokonga, Tavares and Cedric Soares, stared in their 3-0 win over Wimbledon at the EFL Cup.
