World Cup Qual. CAF: Three Impressive Things Gernot Rohr Did Against Liberia

The Super Eagles of Nigeria secured three points from away against Liberia yesterday the 13th of September, 2021. During the showpiece, I noticed three impressive things the head coach Gernot Rohr did against their opponent, recalling that their first leg ended 2:0 in favor of the West African Country.

However, the home team gave them a run for their money, Peter Wilson and his teammates played very well but they were unable to score a goal, the Super Eagles came out on the better side. One yellow card, six substitutions, and two spot-kicks were recorded.

As long as the qualification phase is a concern, the German tactician is not doing bad, he has won four out of five matches, he is expected to do better in the last game against Cape Verde on the 16th of September, 2021 by 5:00 PM at Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

1. He used two attackers upfront, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Victor Osimhen, no doubt, the duo are good playmakers. His decision paid off when the player in jersey No9 converted a spot-kick in the early stages, 15th minutes to be precise, the visitors added more efforts, half time, 0:1. You will agree with me that they are key players in their respective clubs, so it was a wise decision to have started them at the same time.

2. Gernot Rohr brought in Ahmed Musa at the right time to replace Iheanacho, 87th minutes, the captain did what he knows how to do best, he is a player with so much pace and skills, he made his presence count when he scored the second goal for the Super Eagles from the spot-kick as well.

3. He used a different formation compared to what he used in their first meeting and it worked out well for his team, what a show of class, kudos.
