EPL Matchday 8: A team of the best performing players in Saturday's fixtures

The Premier League entered it's matchday 8 with 7 fixtures played on Saturday.

Here is a team of the best performing players across all games on the day.

Edouard Mendy (Chelsea)

What a performance it was by Edouard Mendy against Brentford. He made 6 saves with most of them being world class saves to deny the Bees of any point in their home ground. It is wonder how he failed to make the Ballon d'or list.

Right back

Tino Livramento (Southampton)

Tino Livramento's first season in the top flight keeps getting better and better. The Chelsea academy product produced another man of the match display as the Saints defeated Leeds United 1-0.

Centre backs

Romain Saïss (Wolves)

Despite conceding two goals, Romain Saïss put in a good performance as he scored in Wolves' comeback 3-2 victory against Aston Villa. His performance earned him the Man of the Match award after the game.

Malang Sarr (Chelsea)

Malang Sarr made his Premier League debut for Chelsea in the absence of the injured Antonio Rüdiger and what a way it wss to mark his debut. He made 10 clearances and 6 interceptions to help the blues earn a clean sheet against Brentford as the Bees peppered his team's penalty area with the long balls.

Ben Chilwell (Chelsea)

Back in the side and back among the goals. What a turnaround Ben Chilwell is experiencing at the moment. He has 3 goals in his last 3 starts for club and country. Marcos Alonso has a big job on his hands to regain the starting spot.

Youri Tielemans (Leicester City)

Youri Tielemans helped Leicester City earn a comprehensive 4-2 victory over Manchester United. He scored a goal of the month contender on the game.

John McGinn (Aston Villa)

John McGinn grabbed a goal and an assist for Aston Villa against Wolves. However, his goal contributions were not enough as Wolves stages a comeback to earn a 3-2 victory.

Bernado Silva (Manchester City)

Bernado Silva was man of the match as Manchester City claimed a 2-0 win over Burnley. He scored a goal in the game.

Right winger

Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford)

On another day, Brentford could have gotten a 2-1 win (or more) against Chelsea. When Mendy's goalkeeping heroics were not enough, the post was there to stop Mbeumo from scoring twice in the game. That's 6 times the Brentford forward has struck the post this season. Talk about being unlucky.

Left winger

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

Mohamed Salah is the best player in the EPL at the moment without question. His assist for Saido Mané's goal was sublime while his own goal was a recreation of the beauty he scored against Manchester City before the international break. How indeed will the reds fare without him when the AFCON comes calling in January?

Centre forward

Roberto Firmino (Liverpool)

One hattrick and one assist is an outstanding performance in any game. On another day, it would have been enough for Bobby Firmino to win the Man the Match award but for that gem of a player named Mo Salah.
