Finally, Messi wins Copa America

After four previous defeats for Leo Messi in the Copa America final, Messi finally won an International trophy.

In the early hours of Sunday, Argentina secured a 1-0 win over Brazil to claim their first trophy in over 15 years.

The game lived up to its billing as it was an high tempo and open game. Argentina took the lead before half an hour played after a mistake by Lodi kept PSG superstar, Angel DiMaria onside which he duly put to the back of the net.

Brazil worked their socks off to get an equalizer but were kept at bay for the remainder of the game with Aston villa goalkeeper, Emi Martinez pulling tremendous saves.

Messi, who had initially been named player of the tournament alongside Brazilian superstar, Neymar Jr landed his first international trophy in style scoring 4 goals and assisting 5, which meant he contributed to 9 goals out of 12 goals scored by Argentina.

According to top journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Former Barcelona player, Leo Messi will now seek to negotiate a new contract with Barcelona till 2023 once celebrations are ended.
