Its no longer news that FC Barcelona are currently going through a bad patch at the moment.
The spanish LaLiga, who confirmed the departure of club legend Lionel Messi during the summer have endured a disappointing start to the 2021/2022 season.
Even though the Camp Nou side brought in reinforcements including the likes of Memphis Depay, Luuk de Jong and Yusuf Demir, they are currently sitted in 9th position on the LaLiga table ahead of the international break.
That said, the club are already planning on their next steps going forward and are now reportedly keen on renewing the contract of highly-rated young midfielder Gavi.
The young central midfielder has shone in the eight appearances he has made so far, recording one assist in the process.
Gavi's energetic displays whenever he is on the field of play is believed to have actually impressed Barcelona and according to reports from popular transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his verified Twitter page, Barcelona are prepared to reward him with a new contract.
The reports further claimed that Barcelona have been working on a new five-year deal for Gavi for a few weeks now with his salary increasing from year to year.
That said, it remains to be seen if Gavi will decide to commit his long-term future to Barcelona or choose to continue playing out his carrer elsewhere.
