The ongoing Summer transfer window has been a bit busy for players across the world including those from Nigeria.

While some of these moves may be seen as primarily engineered by monetary gains others are career choices that should be commended.

Ahead of what should be another explosive season as fans are expected back at the match venues, here's a selection of three of the Nigerian Football Stars who will be playing in new leagues this season

John Mikel Obi

The former Super Eagles captain shocked many after he turned down a chance for an extended stay at Stoke City for a move to Kuwait to join Al Kuwait SC.

Mikel started his professional football career abroad with Lyn Oslo from where he joined Chelsea.

Aside from his time in England, the midfielder has also played in China and Turkey.

This is the first time Mikel will be playing in Kuwait, hopefully he would also have a successful stint in the Middle East.
