With 14 points from a possible 27, the gunners currently sits in 9th place in the Premier League table. The Arsenal owners gave maximum support to Arteta last summer, as they released funds for the acquisition of the manager's main targets. A total of six new signings were made, and judging from the few matches the new signings have played this season, the process which they preached about is gradually coming into actualization.

If you follow Arsenal games with deep reading of the game play, you will realize that the team currently have a problem of sustaining a press after scoring the first goal. Mikel Arteta shared his philosophy on how he wants his team to play. He said what he demands from his team is the high press, and what this means is that, his team should always pressurize the opponent so that they won't be able to play their game, hence making mistakes which can be pounced upon by his strikers.

Reminiscing the four games Arsenal won this season, they execute this high press tactics early in the game, and when they do get a goal, the follow-up response they give is what is the main problem of the team at the moment. After pressing and getting the first goal, their high press totally drops, and at times when they manage to keep up with the tactics, at the 55th minutes upwards, they go back to their lackluster self.

This notion is evident in the game against Norwich City, Burnley and most recently, against Crystal Palace. In the game against the eagles, after pressing hard and getting the first goal, the team went back to their shell, as they were unable to keep up with the tactics. The only games where they were able to sustain the high press to an extent is in the game against Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa yesterday.

Arsenal has the youngest squad in the Premier League, they have no excuse of running out of gas using the high press tactics. Arteta needs to work on this problem if he really wants top 4 this season.
