The signing of Facundo Pellistri might have gone under the radar for many Manchester United fans during the summer transfer window. This is largely because he wasn't signed as a first team player and for the price of £8 million, it is not so hard to see why.
He has registered his first assist in Manchester United colours in just his 3rd appearance for the under-23s. It was a whopping cross that was preceded by superb wing play that delivered the ball to Shola Shoretire who tucked in the header.
Manchester United's under-23 faced off with Tottenham Hotspur's under-23s and unlike the first team, United actually got the job done and the game ended with 4 goals to 2 in United's favour. This was largely thanks to Pellistri and the role he played in the team.
While Pellistri has yet to make an appearance in the first team yet, he has been training with them since he signed from Peranol and could see first team minutes during the busy schedule over the next few weeks.
Pellistri's role in the under-23s suggests that he might be featured on the right wing very often as a traditional right footed winger. The game has evolved beyond tactical systems like that but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might place him on the right wing anyway.
Do you think Pellistri might solve United's right wing problems?
