Nigerian international and forward enigma, Olanrewaju Kayode was in action on Monday night for Sivasspor in their opening game of the new Turkish Super Lig against Konyaspor at the Yeni 4 Eylul Stadi.
The Nigerian star was impressive in the game as he played his quota for the Riza Calimbay's side despite been the losing side.
Olanrewaju Kayode was handed a role to play in his team's starting XI following his outstanding performance for the club in their pre-season games and UEFA qualifiers.
The game in the first half was such a balanced one as there was nothing to separate them at half time which ended goalless draw.
In the second half of the game, the tempo got tensed up as they were both clinical with their physical, technical and tactical displays but none was able to break the deadlock until the 88th minutes when Sokol Cikalleshi gave the visitor the lead to make it one nil.
After every other attempts from both ends to add more to the tally of the night, all proved abortive as it tnded one nil at full time.
Sivasspor with the shock and disappointing narrow defeat of the night will now be hoping to be back to winning ways in their next fixture so as to keep their pursuit going in the new campaign.
