Super Eagles defender scores 1st ever European goal and guide his team to clean sheet in UEL 2-0 win

Super Eagles of Nigeria defender, Leon Balogun was in action yesterday for Glasgow Rangers in their third game of the UEFA Europa League ties against Broenby IF at the Ibrox Stadium.

The Nigerian star was outstanding in the show of the night as he played significant roles in his team's success to get their first win of the competition which placed them at the third spot on the table.

Leon Balogun in the game gave his side a deserving lead with a superb header and was also strong defensively as he led them to a crucial clean sheet that keeps them going in the competition.

The host opened the scoring sheet with a goal from Leon Balogun in the 16th minute of the game to make it one nil before Kemar Roofe doubled the lead for the Steven Gerrard's side in the 30th minute, to make it two goals to nil going into the half time break.

The game got more intensed in the second half as they both put up some physical, tactical and technical displays but none was able to add more to the tally with all attempts from both side to do so proving abortive as it ended two nil at full time.

Leon Balogun with his goal of the night has now scored his first ever goal for Glasgow Rangers. This was his first goal in any competition since netting for Brighton and Hove Albion against Crystal Palace in the English premier league back in December 2018.

Leon Balogun will now be optimistic to keep his brilliant run of form going for the Scottish Premiership title-holder as they keep their pursuit going in the competition, with the hope to advance to the next stage.
