One of the best decisions of the Nigerian Basketball Federation(NBBF) was to appoint an experienced NBA coach to man the Nigerian male basketball team, a wise decision. With help of the 51-year-old, to a larger extent, with will help harness the untapped talents from the local and abroad. Much blame cannot be put on him for the Olympics outing of the D'Tigers, more blame should be put on the federation for not having a stable basketball league in Nigeria. In all, Brown is the man for the job.
The black American coach was appointed the Nigerian male basketball team coach on the 5th February 2020, a year when the delayed Tokyo 2020 was supposed to hold and five months to the tournament.

The outbreak of the world pandemic extended the tournament still this year, as it has been held and it has been concluded. In the space of a year and with the wealthy experience in the NBA the former Golden Warriors coach possesses, he was able to bank on Nigerians in the diaspora to play for the country, what a good job. Before now, the D'Tigers already qualified for the Olympics in Kigali with their female counterpart.
The American coach was able to play the squad he gathered for a year to play against some of the basketball heavyweights including the USA, Argentina and other. Bringing the likes of Jahiil Okafor, KZ Okpala, Precious Achuiwa who are NBA drafted players to play in the Olympics, which is good for the country.
Brown has coached world-renowned basketball players, like late Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Tim Duncan, David Robinson, Kevin Durant Steve Kerr, Tony Parker and Kyrie Irving among others. He can nurture players from the country to become famous players through his bumper resume and prepare them for Paris 2024 which is three years from now.
The federation should help the game in the country by having a formidable basketball league that will be competing at both the continental level and the international scene. The Basketball Africa League (BAL)is there to develop raw talents.
However, as the AfroBasket is at around, with rooster the American has released, an admixture of foreign-based players and the local side, the future of basketball in the country will certainly be bright with Brown on board. He is the best man
