Chelsea's Defeat To Man-City Reveals Why It Is Almost Impossible To Match Arsenal's Greatest Team

Chelsea is currently one of the best teams in the world after winning the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup under the management of German manager Thomas Tuchel.

With the addition of Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku during the summer transfer window, Chelsea only added more strength to an already strong team.

The blues started the new Premier League season with a 3-0 win against Crystal Palace, followed by a 2-0 win over Arsenal, a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Anfield Stadium despite receiving a red card in the first half, another 3-0 win against Aston Villa and a 3-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea's performances against the aforementioned teams were dominant and so positive that it looked like no team could match or even resist the persistent waves of attacks from Thomas Tuchel's men.

Many fans could be forgiven for thinking Chelsea could go the whole season unbeaten thus matching Arsenal's greatest achievement in history which was set in the 2003/2004 season.

This was when Arsene Wenger's men won the Premier League title without losing a single game throughout the season hence the nickname"The Invincibles".

But then, Chelsea lost to Manchester City last weekend in the Premier League with a 1-0 scoreline. Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus scored the winning goal for Manchester City early in the second half via a deflection.

Chelsea could have lost the game by a much higher scoreline but Senegalese goalkeeper Edouard Mendy was in great form and his heroic saves kept the scoreline at a respectable level.

Going a whole season in the Premier League unbeaten is a very difficult thing to achieve because every match is unpredictable and there are many quality teams in the league.

The defeat destroyed any chance for Chelsea to match the invincibles this season and reveals why it is almost impossible to match Arsenal's greatest team.
