Arsenal's hopes of winning the English Premier League title have ended in disappointment, following their 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest on Saturday at City Ground Stadium Saturday evening.
The Gunners entered the contest off the back of their disappointing 3-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion which halted their league title ambition, and they were looking for a victory on Saturday to revive their mission.
The Mikel Arteta-led team started the game on a convincing note, dominating the possession of the contest but they were unable to find the back of the net. The hosts broke the deadlock of the game in the 19th minute when Taiwo Awoniyi score his 9th goal of the season to give his team the lead. The second half of the game resumed with the Gunners gunning for an equalizer but the hosts defended with all they have to gain the much-needed victory, which eventually boosted their relegation survival hopes.
