Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers is loving life at his club Feyenoord of the Netherlands.

The 26-year-old Belgian born forward trained with the team for the first time on Friday, since he joined on loan from Belgian side KRC Genk.

Dessers was given a warm welcome by the club technical staffs and players as makes his way to the training ground of the former Dutch champions.

It was important to see him smile again, after some disappointing moments at Genk, where he was given little or not opportunity to play his football.

Dessers' return to the Netherlands and joining a big club like Feyenoord will give him the drive and the right motivation he needs to be the player he was, before joining Genk.

His exact level is actually one of the big questions of his career. Dessers is probably in his most sparkling form in the 2019-2020 season, when he was one of the best players in the Dutch Eredivisie.

He scored plenary goals for Heracles, but things never quite happened for at Genk and many people claimed, he was lazy and didn't work hard enough to earn the trust of the technical crew.

To be candid, his time at Genk was a total waste of time because he never gets an opportunity to play and develop his career.

At Feyenoord, he will work with Arne Slot, one of the best managers in the Dutch Eredivisie in the last few years.

Arne Slot, 42, is known for his attacking style of play and many players have made outstanding progress under him, so I'm very confident he will get Dessers performing at his previous level again.

It seems like Netherlands is a perfect home for him, and shouldn't have left for the Genk's adventure in the first place, but now is the time to re-invent himself under Arse Slot.

Dessers is likely to make his debut for Feyenoord against PSV Eindoven on Sunday and it could the game that will kick-start his rebirth.
