
Patrice Motsepe has been announced as the new president of Confederation of African football (CAF) on Friday, to become the 8th president.
Motsepe replaced the ex CAF president Malagasy Ahmad Ahmad who was currently serving a five year FIFA ban for nepotism, corruption and embezzlement.
He was suspended in November when found guilty of breaching FIFA code of ethics and was banned from football related activity.

Motsepe is a businessman, and the owner and President of Mamelodi sundown club. He is the brother in law of South Africa president Cyril Ramaphosa. The 59-years billionaire is the founder and executive chairman of Africa Rainbow mineral and non executive chairman of Harmony Gold, one of the largest Gold mining company.
He has an estimated fortune of 2.1 billion and he is the South African to lead CAF.
