Chelsea is currently suffering a dip in form following two consecutive losses, and Thomas Tuchel will need his players to rise to the occasion especially those who have failed to live up to expectations.
All does not seem well at the moment for the Blues after suffering consecutive defeats in the EPL and UCL respectively. Chelsea lost by a-lone to goal to Man City and Juventus, failing to register a goal, and managing just one shot on target.
Going into the season, Chelsea were termed one of the clubs with a robust and good squad depth, but some players have not impressed and that is one reason why Chelsea are currently struggling
When Chelsea acquired the services of Saul from Atletico Madrid on deadline day there was much excitement among Chelsea fans because he was a big name and a player who had played on the biggest stages.
The Spanish midfielder was brought in as cover for Kovacic, Kante & Jorginho, but his debut against Aston Villa was not what the fans expected. Saul was slow, not agile and gave away the ball easily - a sign which shows he is not yet fit for the intensity of English football.
He has had a couple of other starts and game time in the EFL Cup and Champions League but is still not looking convincing.
Of all the signings made two summers ago, Ziyech is the only player yet to find his foot at the club. Yes, last season he played an important role in Chelsea's success, but that magic which the fans expect from the left winger has not been fully harnessed.
Injury to Christain Pulisic and a dip in form for Timo Werner has given the Morrocan an opportunity for a starter's shirt, yet Ziyech does not utilize it.
Chilwell was the first choice last season, but an insensitive decision which he took made him lose his place to Marcos Alonso.
Despite not playing a single game at the Euros, Chilwell took a long holiday instead of resuming to camp, allowing Alonso to impress Tuchel and the Spaniard has done well enough to displace him.
CHO might not be a regular starter at Chelsea, but the 20-year old does get his fair share of game time. He has the talent to break into Tuchel's first eleven, but Odoi hasn't done enough to prove his case to the manager.
He is the only academy graduate who broke into the first team and has never been sent on loan, which tells you how talented he is.
If Chelsea is to do well this season, Tuchel will need these players to step up their performances as they will further strengthen his squad.
