Meet the first Igbo and African woman to buy an European football club. Igbo women are not lazy.
She secured the 100% ownership of the 108-years old football club for an undisclosed amount.
Using her word, Nneka Ede expressed her overwhelming excitement to start a new beginning with the Club.
She further said that she hope the new chapter strengthen the sporting relationship between Portugal and Nigeria, a the Club will continue to provide pathways for young talent to shine in their chosen careers.
Meanwhile the club released the statement that confirm the process of negotiation, which lasted for months before reaching agreement with the new owner. Nneka Ede becomes the second Nigerian and the first African woman to own a Portuguese football club.
