Final La liga table after yesterday's games as Barca and Atletico both fumble in title race

Sevilla vs Levante

Sevilla maintained their fine start to the season when they hosted Levante at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan staduim on Sunday afternoon.

Goals from Oliver Torres, Rafa Mir, Diego Carlos, Munir El Haddadi and Fernando sealed a 5-3 win for Julen Lopetuigui's side who move up to third place on the log.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid

Barcelona suffered a fourth consecutive El Clasico loss when they hosted fierce Rivals Real Madrid at the Camp nou staduim on Sunday evening.

David Alaba put the hosts ahead in the first half before Lucas Vasquez doubled his side lead deep into the second half. Substitute Kun Aguero pulled a goal back for the Catalans but it wasn't enough as Real Madrid held on for a famous 2-1 win over their eternal rivals.

Atletico Madrid vs Real Sociedad

Atletico Madrid missed the opportunity to move level on points when they battled with Real Sociedad at the Wanda Metropolitan stadium in match week 9 of the 2021/2022 season.

Real Sociedad would take 2-0 lead at halftime but a quick double from Luis Suarez in the second half meant both sides would have to settle for a point apiece at the end of the final whistle.

Real Sociedad are surprise leaders in the Spanish La liga after Match week 9 with Real Madrid closely following the Basque side in 2nd place. Sevilla are 3rd on the log while Atletico Madrid complete the current top 4.

Barcelona on the other hand languish in 9th place following their 2-1 loss to Real Madrid yesterday.
