Harry Kane has put an end to the ongoing transfer saga which has surrounded him throughout the transfer window by confirming that he's staying at Tottenham.
The English striker announced via his official Twitter account that he's going to stay with Tottenham for the season after he had previously publicly asked to leave the club.
Harry Kane has been courted by Manchester City all through the summer who reportedly had big money bids rejected by Tottenham.
Just like Kane, Erling Haaland is considered untouchable by his club and Borussia Dortmund would require an outrageous fer let him go.
Cristiano Ronaldo on the other hand wouldn't cost too much in transfer fees, expected to be around £25 million because he only has one year left on his Juventus contract.
However, Cristiano Ronaldo is already 35 years old and would only be a short term solution while earning high wages.
Another option that hasn't been mentioned too much is Kylian Mbappe who has refused to sign a new contract at PSG and is set to leave.
Mbappe could either leave this year for a huge transfer fee or as a free transfer next season but the problem is that he has his heart set on Real Madrid.
In fact, Real Madrid have already had a £137 million bid for the French superstar rejected which sends the message that he won't be coming cheap, despite only having a year on his contract.
The best thing for Manchester City would be to sign Cristiano Ronaldo now on a one or two years deal, which will guarantee them the goals they want.
But it would also afford them the time to regroup and target one of the available top strikers next season on a long term basis.
Erling Haaland reportedly has a £70 million release clause which will kick in from next summer and City could take advantage of that situation.
As for Tottenham, they can be delighted in the knowledge that Harry Kane is staying and will now be optimistic of a great season to come.
Spurs beat Manchester City on the opening day of the Premier League without Harry Kane and followed up with another 1-nil win against Wolves which Kane played as a substitute.
Nuno Espírito Santo is building something new at Tottenham as they hope to overcome the disappointment of last season and Harry Kane will feel like a new signing for them.
