Tony Pulis was appointed early in November 2020 following the departure of Coach Garry Monk. Under Tony Pulis, Sheffield Wednesday won just 1 out of 10 games and this prompted the Sheffield Wednesday board to make a huge decision to save their season in the English Championship.

Sheffield Wednesday Chairman has said that the decision had to be taken to save their season as 7 points from a possible 30 is not acceptable.

Sheffield Wednesday have now placed Neil Thompson to be in charge of first team duties pending when a new manager is appointed.
