With less than a year left in his current contract, couple with the fact that no contract renewal talks has been reported, it seems the gunners are preparing for life after the Frenchman. There are two young strikers Arsenal should look at, as a possible replacement for the French striker.
Although he has had his moments at the club, but Lacazette has failed to justify the huge transfer fee Arsenal paid for him in July 2017. The Frenchman man has so far failed to replicate the goal scoring form he had during his time at Lyon.
In his first season with Arsenal, he scored a total of 17 goals. His second season was much better, as he scored a total of 19 goals, of which 13 of those goals were from Premier League matches while six were from UEFA Europa League and the league cup. In the last 5 years at the club, he has failed to hit 20 goals per season, and this is not the standard Arsenal want.
Although he is one of the best striker at the club when it comes to hold play, but he is not clinical in front of goal. His contract expires next year in July, and hitherto, no contract talks have been initiated, thus suggesting that he may leave on a free transfer come next year.
Replacing the striker shouldn't be a difficult thing for the gunners since there are good young talents around the globe, but there are two England Strikers, who I feel either of them will be good at the club.
1. Dominic Calvert-Lewin
The 24-year-old is the kind of striker, who will fit perfectly in Mikel Arteta's system at Arsenal. He is fast, has aerial prowess and very good at hold up plays. Although he may not come cheap, but he will surely tick some boxes.
2. Ollie Watkins
The 25-year-old has been slightly above average since signing for Aston Villa. He is the kind of striker, who many will compare with Lacazette, but the difference between both of them is that, Watkins is faster. He will bring another dimension to Arsenal's attack if signed.
These two strikers are still young and energetic. They will fit perfectly in Arteta's high pressing system.
