Chelsea's next three EPL Fixtures seem difficult, can they still maintain the EPL top 4 spot?

Photo Credit (@Twitter)The Premier League action will resume this weekend on the 11th of September 2021 after which they have concluded the two weeks national team fixtures. The international break always falls after the end of the transfer window to enable players to participate in friendly and qualification matches for their various national teams. A lot of Chelsea players like Jorginho, Lukaku, Mount, Havertz, Werner, Rudiger, Christensen, James, Kovacic, and Pulisic are currently on international duty and they're expected to return back to the club latest on Thursday, so that they'd get prepared for their next Premier League game against Aston Villa.

The South West Londoners are currently occupying at the 4th position in the Premier League table after their first three games in the month of August. The Blues are still unbeaten this season but things could change in the month of September as Thomas Tuchel is faced with series of difficult oppositions. The Blues has one of the toughest fixtures in the month of September, and the games could see Chelsea taste like 2 or 3 defeats. If Chelsea loses any of their next 2 EPL matches, it would definitely affect them in the top four spot.

Chelsea supporters may find it a little hard to recall the final day of the 2020/21 Premier League campaign. What followed in Porto against Manchester City very much took precedent.

So here's a quick refresher. The Blues were in the Midlands, Aston Villa to be precise. A win was needed to guarantee a place for Thomas Tuchel's side in the top four. But Dean Smith's men won the game leaving Chelsea's fate in the hands of their London neighbours.

Chelsea will play Tottenham at away after the Carabao Cup. After the game against London rivals, Tuchel will have to go head to head again with Pep Guardiola on the 25th of this month. Winning these three games could determine Chelsea's fate in the title race this season.
