After undergoing a surgical operation on his dislocated biceps tendon in his right knee before the start of the season, Football Club Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele has returned to training and he's expected to return to the squad by mid-October or at the beginning of November.

Last season, Dembele was a very important player for the club. Now that Leo Messi has left, he's seen as someone that can take the club to the next level.
In this article, we'll be looking at the possible ways the Frenchman could fit into the squad when he's back. Check it out below:
An option Ronald Koeman could explore when the youngster returns is to play with the 4-3-3 formation with Marc Andre Ter Stegen lining up in the goal.
In this setup, the trio of Ansu Fati, Ousmane Dembele, and Depay will occupy the positions up front. While Fati and Dembele stay on the wings, Depay will be deployed to the center.

On paper, this attacking setup looks really good as Ansu Fati and Dembele's incredible pace will help open more spaces for Depay.
In the midfield, Ronald Koeman’s favorite trio of Pedri Gonzalez, Sergio Busquets, and Frenkie De Jong could still keep their positions.
As for the defense, Pique and Araujo, who have formed a very strong central defensive partnership in recent weeks, could keep their places while Oscar Mingueza and Jordi Alba play on the flanks.

Barca has a lot of options in central defense, as such, the duo of Clement Lenglet and Eric Garcia could be used as central defenders in this setup. Sergino Dest and Alejandro Balde are also options for the full-back spots.
Nico Gonzalez and Frenkie De Jong could play in the double-pivot positions in the middle of the park. In this case, Dembele could be deployed to the right-wing-back spot while Coutinho stays on the left-wing-back position.
Though this isn't Dembele's usual position, Koeman used him there a few times last season. As such, he shouldn't have a problem fitting in.
As for the attack, Memphis Depay could form a partnership with youngster Yusuf Demir.
Though Option A looks more realistic on paper, this option also seems formidable.

This season, Koeman has frequently complained of a lack of quality wingers. As such, Dembele's return will be a big boost for the coach and the rest of the team.
