Man United will be looking to return to winning ways when they travel to Vicarge Road to face Watford. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has managed to retain his place as Man United Manager and will be in search of nothing less than a win in this fixture in order to build his squad's confidence heading into tough November fixtures which includes Villarreal, Chelsea and Arsenal in December before the hectic period of fixtures.
Man United have several first team absentees ahead of this clash, which includes Paul Pogba, Raphael Varane, Edinson Cavani and Luke Shaw. However, Solskjaer still has good numbers in his rankings to select from which includes Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Aaron wan Bissaka, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Jesse Lingard, Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo. Despite the fact that Fernandes and Ronaldo haven't trained with the Man United team, their fitness shouldn't be a problem and it would be shocking if the duo doesn't make it to the Man United starting lineup.
Since the 3-4-1-2 formation failed yet again during the derby clash against Man City, Solskjaer could change the system to a 4-4-2 formation with a diamond midfield. Despite the fact that the 3-4-1-2 formation worked to perfection against Tottenham, this formation isn't the best and Solskjaer should know that after the derby defeat. This formation was met to make Man United more secure defensively, however, Man United were lucky to just lose by two goals as it could have been similar to the humiliating defeat to Liverpool. So, Solskjaer should revert to the 4-4-2 formation hoping that this should work for Man United.
Alex Telles could replace Luke Shaw being that Shaw is injured while Wan Bissaka should retain his spot. Maguire and Lindelof should partner in defence being that Solskjaer prefers Lindelof to Bailly. Marcus Rashford didn't travel to train with the England team in order to keep his fitness intact and should be available for this clash, despite the presence of Anthony Martial. There could be a rare start for Donny Van den Beek in midfield, alongside Fred and Mctominay. Bruno Fernandes should be playing the Number 10 role, and Rashford, alongside Ronaldo should be upfront. The predicted lineup is shown below.
Predicted Lineup: De gea; Wan Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; Mctominay, Fred, Van de Beek, Fernandes; Rashford, Ronaldo.
